On November 2nd, our new school community celebrated the first Feast Day at our school for Blessed Chiara Badano. A big thank you to our parents who were able to join us for this grand celebration, and to our trustee, director, religious consultant , and school principals who shared in our first Feast Day mass.
Father Tad celebrated mass with us, with the Knights of Columbus standing guard. On this most joyous occasion, students decorated the walls with handmade lanterns, and the tea lights that each staff member decorated with love on Faith Day, earlier in September, were blessed by Father. The tealights are a symbol for the light of God that lives in each one of us, and for Blessed Chiara, also called Chiara Luce.
Designated students from each class brought up their class tealight to be blessed by Father Tad. Additional tealights were also decorated by our staff on Faith Day to be offered to our trustee Elizabeth Crowe, Director of the school board Dom Scuglia, Superintendent Joel Chiutsi, Principal Stuart at St. Brendan (our hosting school), and Vice Principal Savo from St. Katharine Drexel CHS. As a wider community we are walking together on this new journey and celebrating Blessed Chiara Badano’s message of Love and Faith.
A big thank you goes out to our readers from grade 5, our choir with their angelic voices, and our staff and students for making this day most memorable. The celebration ended with delicious treats, in particular Icedawgs for our students, compliments of our trustee.
